Norway FAQ
-
March is our favorite month to be in Norway. The days are rapidly lengthening, and the snow is plentiful. Expect typical winter conditions. That said, it’s generally pleasant. It might not often get down in the single digits, but pack for it anyway!
-
For our Norway camps, we recommend our campers to be at least intermediate skiers. This means you should feel comfortable skiing about 20-40 kilometers per day. That said, some are on the low end of that range, and some exceed the range.
As far as coaching goes, we try to accommodate everyone equally.
We’re happy to talk with you more directly on this if it’s a concern!
-
You’ll want to pack all of your normal ski gear – skis, poles, boots, and clothing.
You can leave all of your wax and prep gear at home, we’ll take care of that.
For confirmed campers, we’ll share detailed packing and gear lists.
-
Fairly straightforward. Most flight itineraries from the USA include a connection somewhere in Europe. But once you land in Oslo, it’s a five-minute walk from baggage claim to the train.
The train runs every half hour, direct to Lillehammer, and takes about two hours.
We will meet you at the train station in Lillehammer. After that, we provide all transportation until it’s time to head back to Oslo.
We go over all the travel in our pre-camp video-call in greater detail.
-
All travel plans for the camp days and ground transportation during camp are taken care of by us.
For flights and other bookings besides the camp week, we don’t make reservations for you, but are happy to provide recommendations and go over them with you to ensure your trip is dialed.
-
Yes! It’s rural, but the town of Lillehammer has lots of shops and restaurants. We make regular trips into town. We’ll visit the Swix factory and outlet store. And we’ll book private saunas.
